CV Hints & Tips

Your CV is the first point of call to a Client, thus it is essential that it is accurate, easy to read, free of errors and presents your capabilities in their best light. Accordingly below are a few tips to assist:

  • Take your CV to the interview and use it to show where you have successfully achieved tasks previously.
  • MyGMT will lay your CV out in an effective and easy to read format. Ensure when inputting your CV into MyGMT that you write complete sentences where appropriate.
  • Within the Major Responsibilities and Achievements sections, start bullet points with active verbs such as "design, develop, ensure, facilitate, liaise, manage, market, monitor, prepare, provide, undertake"

  • Keep the CV length to a minimum - making the best use of specific job-related information. A good resume should be no more than four - six pages in total and paint a concise picture of your skills, Knowledge and Experience. Any details raised in your resume can be further investigated in the interview.
  • Professional experience should be documented in reverse chronological order for ease of reading.
  • Your CV should highlight your strengths and present a compelling argument to meet you in person.
  • Be specific in your CV and use numbers or percentages for effect.
